Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Names, case numbers, or other terms entered in a search tool are sent directly to the outside company that provides the tool. That company processes the query and supplies its results. Jefferson County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, the message may be kept as needed to respond. We do not voluntarily disclose that correspondence outside our organization, though it may be produced when a valid legal duty requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary technical details may be recorded when a page loads:
- The device's internet protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- Date and time information for page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure how visitors move through the website, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers may combine that traffic information into reports. Browser controls can reject cookies, although doing so may change how some functions operate.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information supports the operation of the Jefferson County court-reference resource.
- Maintaining reliable and responsive pages
- Passing a search request to the selected partner service
- Understanding which resources are useful
- Diagnosing faults and improving performance
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Jefferson County Court Docket does not host, sell, compile, or maintain a database of case records or personal docket information. It publishes general directions to official Jefferson County, Georgia custodians, including the Clerk of Superior Court, separate lower-court clerks, and authorized access systems. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
The Georgia Open Records Act concerns access to qualifying government records. Uniform Superior Court Rules 21 and 21.6 and Georgia's electronic-filing minimum standards address public court access, sealing, redaction, and restricted electronic filings. Those authorities do not turn this private website's visitor logs into Jefferson County court records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools displayed on content pages. Information submitted through a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, disclosure, pricing, and security practices. Review those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Jefferson County clerk pages, Georgia court portals, legal-aid resources, and outside search companies. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read them before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across websites or select ads. That processing occurs on their systems and under their policies.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search providers that receive a query submitted through their tool
- Analytics companies that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve ads
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information under our control. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however. We work to reduce risk but cannot promise that an unauthorized access event will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If information from someone under 18 is identified, a request may be made for its prompt deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights over personal information can depend on the law that applies where a visitor lives. The Georgia Open Records Act governs requests to public agencies, including qualifying Jefferson County records, but it is not a general consumer-privacy request law for this private resource. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Ask what personal information is held about them
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Seek deletion of information where the law permits
- Object to or opt out of certain processing
Public court records remain subject to their custodians, Georgia access law, sealing orders, protected-identifier rules, and electronic-access restrictions. A privacy request sent here cannot alter an official court file.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A new version becomes effective when posted here, and its effective date will be updated at the same time.
